Nissan Fairlady Z For Sale — Import From Japan

S30, Z31, Z32 — the JDM-market Z

The Fairlady Z is the Japanese-market Z-car, and importing one from Japan gets you specifications the US never received — including the twin-turbo Z32 in right-hand drive with the factory 5-speed.

Eligibility runs on month and year of manufacture, not model year — as of today, anything built September 2001 or earlier qualifies. Within a generation marked “phasing in” some build dates are legal and others are not, so the individual car matters. Tell us the chassis and we will check its exact build date before you commit.

Why import rather than buy a US car

The Z32 was sold in America, so the obvious question is why bother importing one. Two reasons: JDM cars were never salted through a North American winter, and the Japanese market got specifications and colours the US did not. The trade is right-hand drive and the import process — which is the part we handle.

The S30 is now firmly a collector car and priced as one; condition and originality drive the number far more than mileage. The Z31 remains the value entry to the family.

What we check before bidding

What it costs to import a Fairlady Z

The prices above are the vehicle in Japan. On top of that, budget roughly $3,000–$5,000 for ocean freight, standard export and import fees, US customs duty, and US title service. We quote all of it as one landed price — unlike exporters who advertise a to-port “shipped” price and leave you to hire your own customs broker. See the full cost breakdown.

Is the Fairlady Z legal to import?

Any vehicle 25 years or older is legal to import into the USA without meeting modern FMVSS safety or EPA emissions standards. Eligibility runs on the month and year of manufacture, not just the model year, so within a single generation some build dates qualify before others. If the exact car you want is not yet eligible, we can buy it and store it in Japan until it is. See the 25-year rule explained.

How buying one from us works

We bid at Japanese auctions and buy from dealer stock on your behalf. Before any money moves, the car is physically inspected in Japan — photos, video, and a condition report, not just an auction sheet grade. After purchase we handle export, ocean freight to your nearest US port, customs clearance, import duty, and US title, so the car arrives ready to register. Typical timeline is 45–60 days from purchase to delivery.

What is the difference between a Fairlady Z and a 300ZX?

They are the same car. "Fairlady Z" is the Japanese-market name; "300ZX" is what Nissan called it in the United States. A JDM-market car will wear Fairlady Z badging and be right-hand drive.
