Nissan Skyline C10 For Sale — Import From Japan
Hakosuka, or "boxy Skyline", is the Japanese nickname for the C10, the third-generation Skyline built from August 1968 to 1972. Nissan sold it as a four-door sedan and as a wagon and van, and from October 1970 as a two-door hardtop on a shorter wheelbase. Four-cylinder cars use Prince's 1.5-liter G15 or 1.8-liter G18. To take Nissan's L20 single-cam six, the 2000GT has a longer nose, and the 2000GT-X of September 1971 adds twin SU carburetors. The 2000GT-R got the S20 instead. It's a 2.0-liter 24-valve twin-cam six, developed from Prince's R380 racing engine and rated at 160 PS. Nissan built 832 GT-R sedans (PGC10) and 1,197 hardtops (KPGC10). Most C10s for sale are 2000GTs and GT-Xs, and many are dressed as GT-Rs, so trust the chassis code over the badges. Some listings also file 1972-77 C110 "Kenmeri" Skylines under C10. Check the code on those, too.

What to check on a Skyline C10
- Compare the chassis code on the plate with the body stamping. A GT-R must read PGC10 or KPGC10, where P marks the S20 engine and G the long six-cylinder body. Put GT-R parts on a GC10 or KGC10 and it's still a 2000GT.
- If the car is sold as a GT-R, look at the S20 engine itself (it has three carburetors) and match its numbers to the car's documents.
- Watch for four-cylinder cars made to look like sixes. The 2000GT has a longer nose and wheelbase than the 1500 and 1800, and different codes. C10, PC10 and KC10 are four-cylinder cars.
- Rectangular taillights and a notchback hardtop mean a C10. The C110 that came next has round taillights, a fastback hardtop and a code ending in 110 or 111.
- Any body more than 50 years old needs checking for rust and old repairs. From underneath, look at the floors, sills, rear wheel arches and trunk floor, then check the rear quarters for filler.
What it costs to import a Skyline C10
The card prices above are what each car costs in Japan. The shipped price on a card is that car delivered to your nearest US port, with ocean freight and export fees included. We then clear it through US customs as your importer of record and handle the title, so there's no customs broker for you to hire. The full cost breakdown has the details.
Is the Skyline C10 legal to import?
Any vehicle 25 years or older is legal to import into the USA without meeting modern FMVSS safety or EPA emissions standards. Eligibility runs on the month and year of manufacture, not just the model year. If the exact C10 you want is not yet eligible, we can buy it and store it in Japan until it is. See the 25-year rule explained.
How buying one from us works
We bid at Japanese auctions and buy from dealer stock on your behalf. Before any money moves, the car is physically inspected in Japan, with photos, video, and a condition report, not just an auction sheet grade. After purchase we handle export, ocean freight to your nearest US port, customs clearance, import duty, and US title, so the car arrives ready to register. Typical timeline is 45–60 days from purchase to delivery.

What do you check before buying a Nissan Skyline C10?
Every car is inspected in person in Japan before any money moves. On this chassis we look hardest at: Compare the chassis code on the plate with the body stamping. A GT-R must read PGC10 or KPGC10, where P marks the S20 engine and G the long six-cylinder body. Put GT-R parts on a GC10 or KGC10 and it's still a 2000GT; If the car is sold as a GT-R, look at the S20 engine itself (it has three carburetors) and match its numbers to the car's documents; Watch for four-cylinder cars made to look like sixes. The C110 that came next has round taillights, a fastback hardtop and a code ending in 110 or 111.
Is every Hakosuka a GT-R?
Hakosuka is a nickname for every C10 Skyline, GT-R or not. Only about 2,000 were GT-Rs with the S20 twin-cam six. The rest are 1500, 1800, 2000GT and 2000GT-X models. A lot of 2000GTs now wear GT-R grilles and over-fenders, and there's nothing wrong with that as long as the car is described and priced as a 2000GT.
What is the difference between the 2000GT and the 2000GT-X?
They share the 2.0-liter L20 single-cam six. The 2000GT-X has twin SU carburetors, good for 130 PS on high-octane fuel where the single-carburetor 2000GT makes 120 PS, and it has more equipment, including power windows on the hardtop. Nissan added the 2000GT-X as a hardtop in September 1971 and as a sedan in March 1972.
Why do some C10 listings show round taillights?
Usually because the car is a C110 "Kenmeri" Skyline, built from 1972 to 1977, that the listing has filed under C10. Round taillights came back on the C110, which also has a fastback hardtop. Its chassis code ends in 110 or 111.
