Nissan Laurel C34 For Sale — Import From Japan
Sold from January 1993 to 1997, the C34 was the seventh-generation Laurel. Nissan gave every car a wider body, and for side-impact protection the four-door hardtop now had a center pillar, which ended the pillarless design of the C33. Launch engines were the RB20E, RB20DE and RB25DE straight-sixes plus the RD28 diesel. All the gasoline cars had an automatic gearbox. In January 1994 the Club S got its own grille and front bumper, and the RB25DET turbo arrived in the 25 Club S Turbo, rated at 235 PS. The September 1994 facelift (kouki) changed the exterior substantially. It also brought the first four-wheel-drive Laurel, using ATTESA E-TS, and put the turbo in the luxury line as the 25 Medalist V Turbo. On Club S models you could order Super HICAS four-wheel steering with ABS. The diesel Medalist was the only factory manual, so a gasoline C34 with a clutch pedal has been converted. The model code on the plate gives the engine size and shows whether the car has rear steer or four-wheel drive.

What to check on a Laurel C34
- Gasoline C34s all left the factory as automatics, so a manual one is a conversion. Check the pedal box, clutch, driveshaft and mounts, and make sure the seller discloses it.
- Any RB25DET car should get a compression test. Look for smoke and boost leaks as well, and for oil leaks at the turbo.
- Cars coded GCC34 have Super HICAS. Watch for warning lights and feel how the rear steer behaves. If it's been locked out, confirm the job was done properly.
- On a 4WD car (GNC34), look for ATTESA E-TS warning lights, and check for binding or drivetrain noise on tight, slow turns.
- From September 1994, kouki cars look substantially different, so confirm the front and rear match the build date in the listing.
- For rust, go over the sills, rear arches and floor, then lift the trunk carpet to check for water underneath.
What it costs to import a Laurel C34
The card prices above are what each car costs in Japan. The shipped price on a card is that car delivered to your nearest US port, with ocean freight and export fees included. We then clear it through US customs as your importer of record and handle the title, so there's no customs broker for you to hire. The full cost breakdown has the details.
Is the Laurel C34 legal to import?
Any vehicle 25 years or older is legal to import into the USA without meeting modern FMVSS safety or EPA emissions standards. Eligibility runs on the month and year of manufacture, not just the model year. If the exact C34 you want is not yet eligible, we can buy it and store it in Japan until it is. See the 25-year rule explained.
How buying one from us works
We bid at Japanese auctions and buy from dealer stock on your behalf. Before any money moves, the car is physically inspected in Japan, with photos, video, and a condition report, not just an auction sheet grade. After purchase we handle export, ocean freight to your nearest US port, customs clearance, import duty, and US title, so the car arrives ready to register. Typical timeline is 45–60 days from purchase to delivery.

What do you check before buying a Nissan Laurel C34?
Every car is inspected in person in Japan before any money moves. On this chassis we look hardest at: Gasoline C34s all left the factory as automatics, so a manual one is a conversion. Check the pedal box, clutch, driveshaft and mounts, and make sure the seller discloses it; Any RB25DET car should get a compression test. Look for smoke and boost leaks as well, and for oil leaks at the turbo; Cars coded GCC34 have Super HICAS. Watch for warning lights and feel how the rear steer behaves. If it's been locked out, confirm the job was done properly; On a 4WD car (GNC34), look for ATTESA E-TS warning lights, and check for binding or drivetrain noise on tight, slow turns.
How do I tell the early, middle and late C34 apart?
C34s come in three stages, starting with the January 1993 originals. In January 1994 the Club S got its own grille and front bumper, and the RB25DET 25 Club S Turbo was added. Then the September 1994 facelift (kouki) brought new headlights, grille, hood, rear lamps and rear bumper, along with the 25 Medalist V Turbo and the first four-wheel-drive Laurels. So a turbo car can still be a pre-facelift car.
Can I get a factory manual C34?
Only if it's the RD28 diesel Medalist. Every gasoline C34 left Nissan with a four- or five-speed automatic, so a gasoline car with a manual has been converted. That's not necessarily a problem, as long as it was done well and the seller is upfront about it.
What does the C34 model code tell me?
HC34 means a 2.0-liter RB20, GC34 a 2.5-liter RB25DE or RB25DET, and SC34 the RD28 diesel. A second C (GCC34) marks a car built with Super HICAS, and an N (GNC34) is a four-wheel-drive car.
