Importing From Japan: Key Facts
US law allows import of any vehicle 25 years or older (the "25-year rule"). Not yet eligible? We can store it in Japan until it is.
Typical timeframe from purchase to US delivery: 45-60 days.
All-in-one service: we handle everything - auction bidding or dealer purchase, in-person inspection, ocean shipping, US customs clearance, import duty, and title. Most exporters quote only a to-port "shipped" price and leave US customs and duty to you; we include it all up front (we act as your customs broker), so you never have to find or hire your own.
Exported vehicles are exempt from Japan's 10% Consumption Tax (JCT) - beware of exporters who charge it.
